will the real environmentalist please stand up?

Posted by Citizen on August 31, 2007

House #1 is compared fair and square to house #2. House #1 belongs to a cult leader who has deceived millions. House #2 belongs to a man who has liberated 50 million from tyranny. Which one is the true environmentalist? RTWT.

climate lies discovered

Posted by Citizen on August 11, 2007

There are scandals upon scandals in climate politics. There are “scientists” who’ve given up scientific inquiry and completely sold out to the nuttiest fringe of the issue. More’s the pity because there are actual benefits to ascertaining the evidential truth of the matter. Lying on purpose and covering up the lies and lying about the cover-up doesn’t contribute to facts supported by evidence.

For the record I think there are cycles of climate change with ample evidence to support that view. I don’t think there is one bit of conclusive evidence that human activity is responsible for altering those cycles, and I am sceptical enough to doubt that humans have the capability of altering and managing the climate changes we observe. Enough about me, how about some facts for a change?

Years of bad data corrected; 1998 no longer the warmest year on record

My earlier column this week detailed the work of a volunteer team to assess problems with US temperature data used for climate modeling. One of these people is Steve McIntyre, who operates the site climateaudit.org. While inspecting historical temperature graphs, he noticed a strange discontinuity, or “jump” in many locations, all occurring around the time of January, 2000.

These graphs were created by NASA’s Reto Ruedy and James Hansen (who shot to fame when he accused the administration of trying to censor his views on climate change). Hansen refused to provide McKintyre with the algorithm used to generate graph data, so McKintyre reverse-engineered it. The result appeared to be a Y2K bug in the handling of the raw data.

McKintyre notified the pair of the bug; Ruedy replied and acknowledged the problem as an “oversight” that would be fixed in the next data refresh. NASA has now silently released corrected figures, and the changes are truly astounding. The warmest year on record is now 1934. 1998 (long trumpeted by the media as record-breaking) moves to second place.  1921 takes third. In fact, 5 of the 10 warmest years on record now all occur before World War II.  Anthony Watts has put the new data in chart form, along with a more detailed summary of the events.

Honest people will take note of the details that are highlighted in the pull quote and then read the original and then read the supporting evidence and come to their own conclusions about who the liars are.

The believers, the algoreites and their ilk, will obfuscate, or just scream and lie. Perhaps an honest handful will reassess the noise and see through the scam. Reality is both simpler and more complex than most pundits let on.

In case you suspect me of exaggerating claims, this spot provides a good follow up on the cover ups. It’s positively shameful that junk science is so cheap and common, and it’s stupefying how sheepish their followers actually are..,

the power of inconvenient truth

Posted by Citizen on July 5, 2007

The results of the studies are published today in the journal Science.Over geological timescales the Earth’s temperature rises and falls, leading to ice ages and periods of relative warmth. Between 450,000 and 800,000 years ago it would have been about 10C in summer and -17C in winter. When temperatures later fell the area was covered in ice and this ice sheet seems surprisingly to have remained in place when temperatures rose again about 130,000 years ago. During this last interglacial period temperatures were 5C warmer than today.

5C warmer than to day. About 130,000 years ago. Let’s see, the cars were gas guzzlers, wait, there were no cars? Well, it must have been that nasty old industrial revolution, wait, there was no industry?

When you listen to the likes of gore and his kind, you get the distinct impression that only man’s existence and activity is causing ‘global warming’, when IN FACT the globe has cooled significantly over the last 130,000 years, or so. Inconvenient, eh?

In case the dots aren’t connecting fast enough for you, let’s note that the earth and the creatures survived the last time it was hotter than it is now, and we will survive again, if that’s where the climate is going.

I believe that algore is repulsively corrupt and dishonest, and I am certain there is a long line of human beings who will be better off if his lunacy isn’t policy.

OK, OK, let’s say you are in algore’s camp. What’s to worry about? The global warming has been warmer, why should it bother you if earth’s climate wants to go there again? Why not, in fact, help it get along thataway?

That’s what I thought..,

the power of statistics

Posted by Citizen on July 5, 2007

There is a counter argument to this that makes my idea that garbage-in yields garbage-out null and void. Quite the opposite in fact, complete with illustrations explaining why garbage-in equals high precision and trustworthy info out. You be the judge. I have experience with people who are so enamoured by their statistical prowess that they have no practical common sense.

Once in a fabrication shop I saw a welder move a support for a beam that was going to have tons of pressure exerted on it. The welder could see from the drawing that the beam was located in the wrong place, and the crane would fail if it were installed as drawn. I literally heard an engineer tell the fabricator to move the beam back where he drew it. The welder tried to explain it to the engineer and the engineer said this: “You’re a welder working for low wages, I am a college educated engineer working for a high salary. You will put that beam where I drew it.” The welder said “OK”.

Do you need me to tell you that the second the lever was thrown on the hydraulics the beam, relocated to the specified place, broke under the stress, the crane fell into a tangled heap, and it was deposited on the scrap heap. Common sense 1, engineers 0.

Now if this were the only case in history that would be that, an anomaly that has no statistical significance. Unfortunately for the statistically inclined this is not an anomaly, it’s a prevalent pattern.

In fact another engineer in the same shop made a similar assertion of knowing it all. The company was building double scissors lifts to service the first fleet of Boeing 747 aircraft. Again a welder modified something and the engineer forced the welder to recant and make the item to the engineer’s specifications.

This time the welder put an over-travel stop on the rail that supported the platform and the engineer had it removed. “OK. Sure thing Boss.”

The airline executives showed up for the final demonstration and proof of concept before signing off on the big order. It was a wonderful and bright day, teams of scruffy low wage welders and herds of suits mingling with the white collar scientific engineering community. Roughly forty of the suits and engineers got onto the platform as the test weight, giddy as school boys at the carnival, and rode that lift to the top.

They rode it to the top and then some. They were about forty some feet off the ground when the platform screeched off the track past the place where the welder’s stop had been removed. The smartest guys in the business were clinging to the handrails and screaming to be rescued. That was something of a problem because the company didn’t have anything that could reach that high to get the smart guys off of their perch. A fire fighting ladder truck that didn’t have anything better to do drove in and save their day.

Based on the statistical power of large numbers, according to this explanation, we could add up all the other occurrences of equally stupid operations and come to the very precise conclusion that people enamoured of their own prowess with numbers cannot be trusted to come to a responsible conclusion, eh? The problem is obvious to the welder-class and the engineer class is oblivious. Who are ya gonna trust with the future? I know what the numbers are telling me, common sense 2, engineers 0..,

It’s not as though I am the only one to question the scam. Here’s a scientist whose guesses, added up with other scientist’s guesses, amount to a very precise refutation of the climate change scam.

According to Swedish paleogeophysicist Nils-Axel Mörner, who’s been studying and writing about sea levels for four decades, the scientists working for the IPCC have falsified data and destroyed evidence to incorrectly prove their point.

When you see that algore, for whom there was no controlling legal authority to prevent him from breaking U.S. election laws, and the U.N. for which there is also no controlling legal authority to prevent the massive sanction fraud or massive rape by UN troops, the idea that any sane human being would get on their bandwagon only proves Honest Abe’s dictum:

“You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.” –
Abraham Lincoln

Who is standing in line to be fooled by gore and the ‘united’ nations?

And a note to engineers, there are two types, and you know who you are. The type I mentioned cannot be confused with the engineers who know the beam is in the wrong place and the stop is in fact needed to keep the suits from going over the edge..,

warming my _ _ _

Posted by Citizen on July 4, 2007

The climate is falling scam got crowded out by the amnesty nastiness for a while, but can it be much longer before that drum starts bleating again?

I offered this man’s site earlier as an antidote to junk science climate scams. Here is a look at the discussion that takes place on his site, with easy to understand discussion of the facts concerning accurate temperature measurements. The simple conclusion is that anyone making predictions based on data that can have a +/- degree or two of error is just making noise. It’s the old GIGO, Garbage-In_Garbage-Out. The forecast temperature prediction CANNOT POSSIBLY BE MORE ACCURATE THAN THE DATA THAT INFORMS IT.

When the climate scam artists are talking about half-degree temperature changes they are just blowing smoke. There is far too much temperature noise in the data to make any kind of predictions to tenths of a degree an absolute impossibility.

This makes algore’s assertions all the funnier, and the legions of sycophants who believe gore are literally hysterical.

But don’t take my word for it, let the people who actually know what they are talking about inform you:

warming my foot

Posted by Citizen on June 24, 2007

This is a must read piece that shows exactly how absolutely bogus the man-made temperature raising mania actually is. The short story is that there are a LOT of official temperature measuring stations that are giving totally false information because of where and how they are placed. Check out this fabulous source of information.

Remember the old saying, GIGO, garbage_in_garbage_out? Algore is getting garbage in and dishing garbage out. Every scientist, falsely so-called, should have to give an account of the purity of his temperature sources. Guess what? It ‘ain’t gonna happen’. This is another outrage purpetrated against Americans and once the shamnesty ordeal is finally cremated Americans should be calling congress about this. Something is rotten in America, and junk science is part of it. Kyoto treaty bite my socks. Let’s turn up the heat on the phoney man-made climate warming scam. Just say NO to stupid false information.

As a matter of fact, there is scientific evidence that suggests that we are about to enter a period of global cooling. The consequences of this are far more harmful to the well being of humanity, but I suppose the dollar signs in the eyeballs of the duped are clouding rational judgement about the climate changes.

Check out this site for the story and link to more information. Again TAB is foremost in the information we can use stream. This is my favorite blog site, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

climate 3

Posted by Citizen on June 3, 2007

If you haven’t been confused by the junk science into believing that humanity, by emitting CO2 is increasing the temperature globally, are you getting somewhat TO’d about the scam they’re perpetrating?

Have you noticed that very prominent scientific experts are repudiating the hype and calling the scam a scam?

Back in the day when the Anchorage Alaskans were making noise about depriving the Juneau Alaskans of the state capitol, the legislature got cute and passed a bill INDEMNIFYING the property owners and business in Juneau against the devaluation that would befall them if such a move occurred.

The Anchorage Alaskans are still making noise about moving the capitol, but if they do they have to compensate every ‘stakeholder’ in Juneau, paying them for their financial losses.

The question occurs to me, who will cover my losses from the results of legislation based on junk climate science. More to the point, who will pay for my loss if they are actually successful, and glaciers destroy my home in Alaska.?

That’s the point you know. The climate is never in stasis, and the exact second that the warming period ends marks the exact start of the next period of glaciation. Almost everyone knows this indisputable fact, but who’s going to make the perpetrators pay the costs of instigating the next ice flow?

Do you find this hard to believe, radical sounding? It isn’t radical, it’s how the dots connect if you can see them. Who will lobby for us so our property, our businesses, and our way of life is financially secured from the risky climate change scheme? Will you? Because it’s the algorenuts who want to change the climate, not the sane people who like it just like it is. Want evidence to back up my claim? Thanks for asking. Read The Past and Future of Climate, a pdf file posted at climatepolice.com.

After reading this piece I hope the issue of protecting ourselves from the climate nuts will become a serious concern. It can’t be a good thing to have Seattle and Chicago, not to mention the entire nation of Canada and millions of endangered species, wiped out by the oncoming glaciers.

If that isn’t enough evidence to convince you, or you’re hungry for more information, here’s another junk science antidote article:

climate 2

Posted by Citizen on June 1, 2007

I may have been hasty. This may be the very best climate science site around. It destroys the algore class of junk science climate scam. According to this writer, “it’s the sun, stupid”.

Naturally if you believe that the symptom of climate warming, CO2, is the cause of climate warming, then do you also believe that a runy nose causes flu? Because that’s the analog of saying something caused by the increasing output of the sun is caused by something caused by the sun. Sound confused? Well, that’s how all those algorite acolites sound.

Don’t take my word for it, visit this site, and tell ’em citizen says hi.
